Biopharmed is the headhunting agency specialized in the search and selection of technical and specialist profiles within the Life Sciences & Chemical industries.
Position:
We are looking for a Business Development Manager, a role with the potential to grow into Unit Director in the future, for an engineering consultancy firm operating in the Life Sciences and Electronics sectors.
Responsibilities:

Formulate, implement, and develop the Unit’s strategic plan in line with the Business Plan and budget approved by the Division Director.

Engage actively with clients and the market, collaborating closely with Sector Directors and Account Managers to ensure high performance, client satisfaction, and continuous sustainable growth.

Identify relevant tenders, establish relationships with partners, and supervise the formal correctness of submissions at both technical and administrative levels.

Oversee the preparation of offers and approve related fees, liaising with the Division Director and Sector Directors.

Manage customer contracts, verifying that contractual agreements comply with offers before final approval, and handle requests for additional fees.

Support Project Directors in managing client relationships and resolving any critical situations to maintain strong and lasting partnerships.

Manage the CRM, ensuring accurate data and effective usage.

Promote corporate visibility through interviews, articles, speeches, professional events, and similar activities.

Coordinate with the Communication Manager to provide content and images for marketing materials related to the Unit.
Job requirements
Key Requirements:
- Fluent in both English and Italian.
- Proven experience in managing a business unit or department in engineering, consulting, or a related technical field.
- Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills.
- Full ownership of budget, financial results, and commercial offers.
- Excellent contract management and negotiation experience.
- Familiarity with project management tools and CRM systems (ideally Vantagepoint).
- The role requires availability to travel up to 70% of the time.
Secondary Requirements:
- Knowledge of the Italian and international regulatory landscape in engineering and construction.
- Experience in public speaking, publishing, or representing a company at industry events.
- Track record in contributing to marketing strategies and communication initiatives.
- Ability to foster innovation in technical systems and sustainable design.
- Familiarity with company culture development and value-based leadership.
